At Celebrate Cacao we love to share our passion for chocolate and to educate others about the world of fine chocolate and where chocolate comes from.
Whether you are a teacher looking for something different to offer your class, an individual wishing to do a chocolate tasting or an employer looking for an alternative team building activity, we have the chocolate workshop for you!
Fun and Educational Chocolate Workshops for Schools & Colleges
Our chocolate education programme is based on the premise that education should be fun, interactive, engaging and inclusive. We have developed a programme of carefully crafted chocolate workshops for schools & colleges to appeal to children of all ages, and teachers too. If you want to engage a group of young people – give them some chocolate!
We work in with children from Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 and have SEN experience, meaning we can make our sessions inclusive for all. Our school and college workshops are the sure-fire way to get your pupils and students engaged and motivated to learn something new, all in line with your own teaching objectives.
We plan our workshops in line with the National Curriculum and make them cross-curricular for younger pupils, with more focus on particular objectives for older students – both approaches meshing with the teacher’s own objectives.
Sessions are delivered by Nicola Knight, the founder of Celebrate Cacao and the Exeter Chocolate Festival, and a teacher with more than 10 years experience from Early Years to Key Stage 2, and SEN. Nicola is also a certified chocolate taster.
All workshops are classroom based, so you don’t need any special facilities.
If you’d like to learn more about how we can add value to your topic with our chocolate workshops, please email Nicola at firstname.lastname@example.org use the Contact form.

Academy of Chocolate Award Winners 2019!
The results are in! Come along to our second Exeter Chocolate Tasters event, to taste some of the best single estate craft chocolate that the world has to offer!
Since its foundation over a decade ago, the Academy of Chocolate has been at the forefront of the single estate craft chocolate revolution. With its annual Awards, the Academy of Chocolate aims to recognise and showcase great-tasting chocolate and its producers.
The Academy’s founders, and volunteers (including myself) who dedicated their time to judging this year’s entries, have judged over 1,200 entries at the 2019 awards – a sharp rise from the 12 entries in the first Awards in 2005.
The entries, made up of chocolate produced in more than 50 countries, included a significant increase in chocolate made by smaller producers – reflecting growing awareness of the origin, craft and sustainability of craft chocolate. Entries were received from chocolate-making producers in the UK, Europe, Canada and the USA, as well as newer producers from countries such as Thailand, Brazil, Vanuatu and Vietnam.
I have carefully chosen a selection of diverse chocolate bars to represent the best that’s out there.
This session will include:
A brief review how to taste fine chocolate, for those who haven’t attended a tasting session before.
The chance to try up to 6 award-winning bars (dark, milk and inclusion).
Use of a flavour wheel to help identify key flavour notes.
